Charles L. Mont III, affectionately known as Charlie, is a Philadelphia-based dancer, choreographer, actor, performer, creative director, event host, and the visionary behind Dancing With Charlie (DWC), a movement and entertainment brand rooted in community, self-expression, connection, and the belief that movement has the power to heal.

Charlie’s relationship with movement began in childhood. A naturally gifted dancer who never attended a formal dance school or conservatory, he developed his artistry through instinct, experience, observation, performance, and an ongoing willingness to learn. Throughout his journey, Charlie has had the opportunity to learn alongside and from talented dancers and choreographers, including formally trained artists who shared their knowledge and challenged him to grow. That openness remains central to who he is as an artist. He trusts his natural gift while never believing he has nothing left to learn.

His creative foundation extends far beyond dance. Charlie spent 10 years with a Philadelphia theater company, developing his craft through stage plays as an actor and performer while also working behind the scenes as a costume manager. Those years helped shape his understanding of character, movement, wardrobe, staging, storytelling, and, most importantly, how to connect with an audience.

Today, all of those experiences come together through Dancing With Charlie. Charlie brings the instincts of an actor, the presence of a performer, the musicality of a dancer, the imagination of a choreographer, and the eye of a creative director into every room he enters.

The performer in Charlie is a major part of what makes DWC different. He does more than teach steps. He reads the room, commands a crowd, creates moments, makes people laugh, and transforms dance instruction into an experience.

Through DWC, Charlie has created a judgment-free approach to line dancing where people of different experience levels can move together without the pressure of perfection. His philosophy is simple: “Do the best you can.” It is an invitation to stop worrying about getting every step right and instead experience the joy, freedom, connection, and release that movement can provide.

What began through dance continues to evolve into a larger creative vision encompassing original choreography, performances, event hosting, private experiences, community programming, collaborations, travel, and live entertainment.

At the heart of it all is “Movement That Heals,” Charlie’s belief that movement can entertain while also connecting people, creating release, and building spaces where people feel free to be themselves.
